What area of London do you currently live in or most associate yourself with?
I live in Shepherds Bush but please don't tell anyone.
How would you describe your act in five words?
That Chinese clown thing lady.
How long have you been doing comedy?
I tried standup for the first time when I was 16, then I started to dabble again when I was 25.. then about two years ago I tried clowning for the first time and totally changed my act.
What is your day job?
I'm a TV producer for really serious documentaries like Panorama and geeky BBC4 history and stuff.
What has been your worst job?
I worked in the lingerie department of Primark when I was 16, Superdrug when I was 17, and serving pints of Tenents to rugby fans at Twickenham when I was 18. All equally awful in their own way.
Why do you love comedy?
I am a really short woman, which means I am generally elbowed out of the way by taller people or squashed against train walls by manspread...when I do comedy I have a status and voice normally only given to white men in their 50s - it's great!
Who are your heroes?
Dr Brown- best clown I've ever seen... Nina Conti-no explanation needed, Paul Foot for being a relentless crackpot.
What made you bite the bullet and start performing?
I think I was one of those weird kids from a big family that either got too much or not enough attention, I've wanted to do it from a really young age.
What was your first gig like?
It was in my sixth form college at the annual Christmas event thing...in front of a thousand teenagers...it was awesome..but my whole set was based around taking the piss out of my family, and they found out and got really annoyed...so that put an end to that material quite quickly.
What has been your biggest achievement so far?
I had an hour long clown show just 9 months after trying clown for the first time. I guess that makes me a total idiot.
What has been your favourite gig?
Last night I had a gig at Comic Boom at Komedia in Brighton! Awesome!
And describe your worst?
Oh, that one where there audience member hammered a nail into his penis in Eastbourne...
A tourette's lady in the audience kept shouting out Thundercats...it was actually epic.
What is the best thing about being a comedian?
Comedy festivals...and gigging with your heroes...
What is the biggest lesson you've learnt?
Be nice, turn up on time....find a way to be consistent on stage regardless of what shitty day you've had.
Where do you hope to be in ten years with your comedy?
On the moon with a monkey puppet.
Any other aspirations?
I want to try my comedy in different countries as it's not dependent on people speaking English.
What's your favourite joke by another act or from your childhood?
Billy Connolly shouting at Christian rock bands, "F*** off!! It's not for you!" Also Eddie Izzard's pear in the fruit bowl routine...
